Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or technology related field preferred. Five (5) years experience in data center operations.
Maintain, run and support data center facilities to ensure that the entire data center and its various systems are operating effectively.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential Functions: 1. Assists with installation and maintenance of Data Center and Network Infrastructure equipment and management software. 2. Provides Data Center or Network Closet technical support to all Internal customers, technicians, analysts and engineers. 3. Assists with drafting, updating and following detailed work instructions relating to Data Center and Network Standards and supports installation of network copper and fiber cabling and follows and supports proper Incident and Change Management processes 4. Assists with drafting, updating and following detailed work instructions relating to Data Center and Network Standards and with the development and updating of preventative maintenance programs for Data Center Facilities and Network Infrastructure equipment. 5. Create Inside Plant and Outside Plant Low Voltage specifications, drawings, estimates and SOW/RFPs defining network requirements for projects including new facilities, remodels, upgrades 6. Perform field inspections on existing & proposed Gulfstream facilities including Network MDF and IDF closets, network infrastructure and associated pathways. Audits and route investigations for new and existing copper and fiber optic cable installation 7. Construction management and supervision of subs and/or subcontractors Perform other duties as assigned.
Other Requirements: 1. Knowledge of Telecommunications and Network Systems – Cisco, Commscope, Panduit, ISP/OSP Fiber.
Knowledge of IT Related Building Standards – BICSI, IEEE, NEC, NFPA.
Knowledge of Building Management control systems and Environmental Monitoring systems.
Solid understanding of the ITIL Change Management Process.
Excellent analytical, assessment, planning, verbal and written communications skills.
Good understanding of corporate IT policies, procedures and standards.
