Permanent position: SURVEYING PARTY CHIEF opportunity at a highly regarded engineering firm for a location in Georgia. Includes relocation.
Responsibilities for the Surveyor
First line supervisory/management working under direction of registered land surveyor or higher level management position and supervise and assist staff in carrying out a variety of survey, office and field work.
Provide effective day-to-day supervision of the survey crew. Determine equipment, materials and personnel needed for specific jobs. Set priorities and meets deadlines. Identify and implements effective courses of action in order to complete work assignments.
Read and interpret plans and specifications. Perform preliminary, construction, boundary and control surveys.
Perform extensive surveying calculations for grades, angles and distances. Make legible survey notes and drawings. Efficiently operates survey instruments, including gps, robotics, electronic total stations and data collectors. Maintain and repair survey equipment as necessary.
Enter survey data in an organized and coherent manner into a data collector. Maintains files of maps, documents, and other records.
Requirements for the Surveyor
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
An equivalent combination of 6 years+ education and experience will also be considered.
Knowledge of surveying principles and practices; engineering design and construction practices.
LSIT registration preferred but not required.
